We are changing to a new system for filtering unsolicited email and blocking email viruses. Your account is now active in our new system called Spamassassin. All accounts in Postini have been removed.

Postini increased their prices and we did not want to pass those increased costs on to you, our customer. We selected the new system, Spamassassin, which is as effective as Postini.

As of 5:00pm Wednesday May 19th, 2004, the new Spamassassin system went in to effect and has done a tremendous job of filtering unsolicited emails (e.g. spam).

If you are continuing to receive some spam, there are details (date/time, location, scoring) in the Internet headers of the email which will assist us in determining how to further improve the performance of Spamassassin. We need you to forward those Internet headers, along with the content of the spam, to stopspam@onlyinternet.net. Below is a simple set of steps to use with Outlook Express that indicate how to forward unwanted emails to stopspam@onlyinternet.net.

To send the Outlook Express Internet Headers along with the email, please do the follow steps:

  • Open the message
  • Select File and Properties from the pull-down menu
  • Click Details tab
  • Using your mouse and while holding down the left-mouse button, highlight the Internet headers and then press CTRL key and the C key at the same time (e.g. Copy) What we'll get from the headers is a line that says X-Spam-Status which details the scoring process for the offending email.
  • Click the CANCEL button in the lower right corner of this properties window
  • Returning to the spam message, click the Forward button and enter stopspam@onlyinternet.net in the TO: line
  • Click the mouse in the body of the message (the first line) and paste the headers into the message by pressing down the CTRL key and the V key at the same time (e.g. Edit, Paste)
  • Then Send the message

From the header and the forwarded message, we will be able to determine more information that will enable us to further evaluate the performance of the new Spamassassin system.
